Meet the Team
Susan Hurd
Chief State Administrator
Susan spent most of her working life as a legal assistant. She was born and raised in the Bay Area and moved to the Sierra Foothills in 1995. As a hard-working single mother raising two boys, Susan didn’t have the time to become active in politics, although she always stood firm in her belief in traditional values.
Susan was a dedicated employee with strong work ethics until she retired in 2019. Since that time, Susan has become involved in politics in an effort to help save California. She volunteers at her local Republican Headquarters and joined the efforts to Recall Governor Gavin Newsom. Susan has worked hard her entire life for what she has, and she has passed onto her children the beliefs and integrity that were instilled in her by her parents.
Watching our State crumble with Gavin Newsom raising taxes higher than most states in our country, wasting our hard-earned money and taking away our constitutional rights, are just some of the reasons Susan has become deeply involved in politics.
Susan believes there needs to be more transparency in government. She believes that our schools are not receiving the funds that the taxpayers are paying, and California’s education system is far behind other states considering the vast amount of money being poured into the State by the people. Susan endeavors to see the State of California return to a thriving economy, reduce or eliminate the absurdly high taxes, return constitutional rights to the people, instill integrity and ethics, and stop Newsom from corrupting our State any further.
Christine Abercrombie
Secretary
Christine spent much of her life as an accredited Master Florist. For over a decade she owned a successful retail florist shop in Fair Oaks, California. Since then she worked as an independent contractor. She recently lost all her clients, which she had procured over the past 16 years, due to passage of AB-5.
As a small business owner in California, Christine had to overcome many of its associated challenges to be successful. She became involved supporting community nonprofits and charities including participating on the boards of both the FTD Association and Friends for Survival Inc.
Christine’s experiences as an independent contractor allowed her the freedom to travel both nationally and internationally. She recognized that California is no longer what it once was. Like many of us, she is seeking a pathway to bring it back. With four generations of her family currently residing in California, it is extremely important for her to find ways to become involved and effect change.
Christine was born and raised in Sacramento to parents by faithful parents that instilled a relationship with God and an appreciation for California and love of country. She enjoys all the natural beauties of California, spending time with loved ones camping, boating and hiking. This very much attributes to her desire and passion to save California.
With her dedication and strong work ethic, Christine is a vital member of the Recall Gavin 2020 management team. She helps ensure that the team is organized, keeps focused, and stays on task to ensure that goals are met and promises are kept. Her focus is to help return the “Golden” to the Golden State.

Mark Meuser
Consulting Attorney
As an attorney, Mark won a major victory against United Airlines. In the case of Gilstrap v. United Airlines, he represented a disabled American. Ms. Gilstrap had been injured by United when they failed to follow applicable Federal Rules in how they handled her travel. United argued that they were not liable to disabled Americans for their violations of Federal Rules. Mark successfully argued before the 9th Circuit that disabled Americans like Ms. Gilstrap were entitled to seek damages against Airlines if they were injured as a result of the Airlines violating Federal Rules.
Mark also defended Troy Worden, who was the Berkeley College Republican President, in a civil litigation matter brought against him by Yvette Felarca, a national organizer of the organization By Any Means Necessary (BAMN) which is a part of the Antifa movement. He was successful in defeating a Petition for a Restraining Order brought that was designed to restrict Mr. Worden’s movement on campus and effected his First and Second Amendment rights.
In his free time, Mark loves being outdoors enjoying California’s natural beauty. Whether he is hiking, bike riding, sailing, scuba diving, or snow skiing, Meuser is always quick to enjoy the diversity this state has to offer.
Matthew C. Mickelson
Consulting Attorney
Matthew is a graduate of the UCLA. School of Law, where he was awarded the Order of the Coif. He worked for several years at Irell & Manella in Los Angeles, practicing general litigation. He later practiced appellate and post-judgment law at Greines, Martin, Stein & Richland, one of California’s premier appellate specialist boutique firms.
Currently a sole practitioner, Matthew focuses on general business litigation, collection matters (both pre- and post-judgment), and appeals. He specializes in business collection litigation, representing both creditors and debtors, and has taken a special interest in dealing with wealthier individuals who have hidden away assets in family partnerships, trusts, limited liability companies and small corporations. He is also active in the appeals arena, having represented appellants, respondents and writ petitioners in front of the California and federal courts. He has served as a “lawyer’s lawyer,” representing attorneys in dozens of lawsuits against former clients for unpaid fees; his lawyer clients range from one of the top-25 largest law firms in Los Angeles county to sole practitioners.
Matthew has also defended attorneys in legal malpractice matters. He worked on the Proposition 209 campaign to outlaw racial preferences, and was President of the Federalist Society at UCLA Law School. He believes not only that Gavin Newsom should be recalled, but that the current lockdowns are unconstitutional, illegal under federal law, unnecessary, and will continue to wreak catastrophic havoc if not immediately lifted.
